Alright, looks like it's time I get Azzip back up and open. Problem is, it needs a bit of cleanin' and I'm goin' ta need help with firewood and shoppin'. So, besides a certain fairy waiter, who wants ta help me? I'd offer ta pay you in food, but since it's free, seems kinda stupid. So, guess I could have a private party for those willin' ta help.

[the bowl is now empty except for little fairy with a very round tummy lying in it]

[Duo wanders over with a cupcake in hand. He chuckles at the plump fairy and shakes his head.] Can ya even fly now?

Huh? [tries to sit up, fails then tries flapping his wings, no luck]

[laughs a little more and leans against the counter while he finishes off his cupcake and licks his fingers] Ya might as well stop 'fore ya hurt yourself. Relax for a bit. I can always carry ya back. Soft hair, remember?

[gives up trying to move and just lies in the bowl, petting his tummy] Yeah, very soft and comfy. Perfect for naps!

Then you can just sit up there while we go back ta Azzip and we can both rest. You're not gunna explode if I pick ya up, are ya?

[sighs happily] Okay~~ I don't think so?

I hope not. I don't wanna wash fairy and cookies outta my hair. Not ta mention I'll be very sad ta lose such a great employee. [He gently scoops the very plump fairy out of the bowl and lifts him to his head.]

I'll try not to explode then! [sighs happily and snuggles the soft, comfy hair] Duo's hair is comfy-warm...

[chuckles] Thanks. Glad ta know I make a good fairy bed. [He walks carefully back to Azzip. He doesn't want to make Salt sick.]

[lies happily on his head, clutching at a few strands off hair so he doesn't roll or slide off accidentally. Then he suddenly sits up]

Huh!? Duo's hair is comfy-warm... That... D-Does that mean your hair is a twinkle!???

[Duo pauses before pushing the door open.] I have no idea, Salt, but ya better not try flyin' off with some of it. Since I'm not from your world, I doubt it. I don't know anythin' about your twinkles though. Might be stuff in the library 'bout it.

But you have so much hair. A few strands won't make much of a difference. Twinkles are comfy-warm. And Elder said we'll find twinkles near a person who can see fairies. Duo's hair is comfy-warm and you can see me so your hair must be a twinkle!

[Duo thinks about this for a while as he walks into Azzip and heads back for the kitchen.] I've got an idea that doesn't involve me cuttin' my hair.

[He gently squats near the sink and digs in the cabinet under it for his kit. He pulls out a brush and takes it back into the main part of the restaurant and carefully sits down on the couch. His calloused and slightly scarred fingers start pulling out the long hairs from his brush, so careful not to break them. He starts to lay them out straight so he can put them together to tie and give to Salt.]

What is it?

[flies over and hovers near to watch Duo work]

[Duo collects most of the soft brown hairs from his brush. He straights the gently curled hairs and collects them into a twisted lock of hair. He ties it and then holds it up for Salt.] There. If it's a Twinkle, ya have it now. If it's not, well ya have somethin' ta use for a pillow.

[takes the offered hair delightedly] Really?? I can have this? Now all I have to do is find my magic flower seed! I've found the Twinkle!!

[Duo frowns for a moment before trying to explain things to the fairy.] Salt, hey, there's only a small chance that my hair would actually be a Twinkle. Seriously, we're not even from the same world. You can keep it, but I don't want you ta be disappointed if it's not. We can still try ta find the magic flower seed thing, but I don't know what that is.

Still there's a chance that it is! [hugs the lock of hair happily] It's a flower seed. We were all given up and we had to find a good place to plant it then we had to collect Twinkles to make it grow and bloom! I planted mine in my world and it's a seedling now! ... but it's in my world and ... I'm here... [looks a little disappointed]

[Duo gives up and lets the fairy have his fun. Like he knows anyway. His hair could be a Twinkle for all he knew.] Well, you can gt lots of flower seeds from Flonne. Might not be the same, but you could start a 'nother one. Then you'd have one in both worlds you can try ta grow.

[And the strand of hair is actually part of a Twinkle. Since friendship is a component of it. He sighs and flies a little lower]

I doubt that. Only our Elder has the seeds and he only gives each of us one when we go to the Human world for our training...

[Aw, now Duo would really feel bad if he knew. He holds out a hand for Salt to land on.]

Well, ya never know what's gunna show up here. [He reaches into his shirt and pulls out a dull and beat-up old knife.] This belonged to my first brother. He had it with 'im when he died and I didn't wanna take it, but here it is. Years and years later in 'nother world. A seed might show up here.

[Twinkles are any significant psychological growth the little fairies gain. He plops down on Duo's palm]

[looks over curiously at the knife] Huh? You really think so?

[Ah, that sounds familiar.]

[He shows it to Salt, not worried about the fairy hurting himself since the blade is long past dull.] Sure. This thing shouldn't even exist much less be here. A seed could do the same. Don't lose hope.

[It does?]

Hm... I hope so.
