Back Again

[Action]

[Duo lifts himself from the tunnel entrance and slips through the shadows of town on his way back to his house. The shadows aren't perfect so of course he can be spotted from time to time, but he's still pretty good with the stealth. He's also tired and smelly. A few days running around the tunnels and then moving boxes wore him out pretty well.]

Hm... [lets go of his hair] I have been cleaning up since I got up this morning. So I'm rather tired now so it might be better for us to just relax on the couch together~

[Duo smiles and tosses his head. The long, wet strands go flying before settling behind him in a mess. He moves to stretch out with Hijiri, squeezing his way onto the couch, and another flick of his head throws his hair off the couch.] Relaxin' is good.

[It's even better that Duo's exhausted because he'd be twitching and hyper after normal missions. He really overtaxed himself with the boxes. The walk back hadn't helped either.]

[shifts a bit to give Duo a little more space on the couch then rests his head on Duo's chest and chuckles, not noticing the twitching yet]

It's nice to do something relaxing together for a change~ So how was the mission this time? Did you find anything?

[Duo shifts some more so he can wrap an arm around Hijiri. His fingers jerk every few moments and he's legs will flex before relaxing, but it's no where near as terrible as things could be.] Yeah, this is nice. I missed you. Things went accordin' ta plan, mostly. Nothin' big happened. Had someone sneak down with the crew who wasn't supposed to. Had a little personal problem. Found somethin' in the tunnel, but I don't know what. Got hit by a girl for flirtin', but I kept my hands to myself. Gotta stay away from the ninjia chicks.

Missed you too. It was so quiet here without you and Ryuhou. [chuckles] You probably deserved it~ [then frowns a bit and sits up] ... why are you shaking, Duo?

Well, it was quieter without me. Ryu only makes a lotta noise when he's complainin' about us makin' a lotta noise~ And ya better believe I deserved it~

[Duo's not sure at first what Hijiri's talking about. He's not shaking. At least he doesn't think he is. He looks down and realizes that his legs are tensing and flexing. Then he catches his fingers twitching and he relaxes again.] Adrenaline among other things. Get worked up when I'm workin' and I ain't used ta havin' a safe house like this ta come back to.

It's your fault he complains... You really should learn to control yourself or at least when to stop~

Adrenaline? Just adrenaline? You didn't get hurt, did you?

Really? Thought someone else was makin' noise too~ But it's not fun 'til I'm in trouble~ You know how it is~

No, I'm just sore and worked up. The slap hurt, but not bad. Swear that's all it is. Now lie back down and relax.

That's why it's your fault~ You are the one who makes me make all that noise. [sighs a little] I know. I know. [nuzzles his chest lightly] But one of these days you might be unable to get yourself out of the trouble you've caused...

... [quickly looks him over from head to toe, then lies back down, his head returning to his previous position on Duo's chest] Get some sleep then.

(ooc: Damn, missed another one.)

Mmmm 's that so? Well then it sounds like it is my fault~ [Duo strokes his side.] Maybe, but that's why I've got a devil ta hide me, a brother ta save me, and a bodyguard ta run away with. Even got someone ta give me an alibi.

[Duo nods before his legs clench again. It'll be a while before he can sleep, but he can settle down and rest.] I will. 's nice havin' you here after a mission.

Of course, it's all your fault or did you want it to be someone else's fault~? [Looks at him with a little frown] Who are your bodyguard and person to give you an alibi?

Mn. [close his eyes] And it's nice to have you back here too. It feels safer now.

[Duo fakes a little growl.] I'd better be the only one makin' ya scream like that. And what do ya mean who's the bodyguard? Sheik a course. He's been watchin' you too when I was out and didn't wanna leave you alone. He wouldn't let anythin' happen to us. [He "forgets" to answer the other question.]

Like makin' ya feel safe even if I'm weak 'nough not ta be much help.

[smiles]I'll let you think that for now~ Sheik? I see. [and does notice that Duo hasn't answered his other question so he sits up again to look down at him. No, not getting jealous] Who's the alibi? What kind of alibi?

Better make sure that's true~

[One eye blinks open as Duo's legs relax.] Nokoru. Said he'd be willin' ta say I was with 'im if I got in trouble. Really think he just doesn't believe I deserve ta be in trouble.

After we rest... maybe~

Nokoru? ... [can't help feeling slightly jealous...] ...why would he do that for you?

's long as I'm the only one no matter when ya rest.

[Duo blinks the one eye before they both open. He's starting to get the feeling he's in trouble and his legs jerk.] 'cause he doesn't think I would actually deserve ta be in trouble. 'sides, friends keep other friends outta trouble, right? It was a while ago though so he might not still be willin'.

You know you are. [kisses his cheek]

[looks at him for a long while, before lying back down] I guess so.

[Duo grins rather smuggly and settles into the couch.]

[Duo cuddles Hijiri back to him, a little uncertain.] I'm not in trouble?

[looks up at him] Should you be in trouble? Is there something you have not told me about?

No, but things get weird when I mention Nokoru and I don't want you ta be jealous or mad or upset.

[hides a bit against Duo as he mumbles] ... I'm not jealous...

[Duo's legs jerk a little as he turns enough to hold Hijiri close.] Hey, stop that. I was a bit of a jerk when ya guys put on the show for me. You can be mad if ya want. Would rather see ya mad than upset.

[hides against him a little more and mumbles] I'm not... jealous nor... sad... just... need a moment.

[Duo just holds him, very uncertain about what's going on. It makes his hands start to jerk and twitch.] I don't get what's wrong...

[he can't really forget the hurt he'd felt from seeing the way Duo looked at Nokoru back then... he knows it's stupid to feel so hurt and jealous and that that's all over now... but... that fear of someday being replaced... no, he had to get over this] ... I'll be fine. Don't worry about it. Just... hold me for now.
