Needs a Favor

Alright, I need someone who knows 'bout magic and stuff. I wanna put a spell into a piece of jewelery and I don't know how. Need someone ta help me or put the spell in it. Actually, I need ta do it twice.

Apparently I need someone who's skilled with enchantments. The long-term, doesn't wear off kinda thing.

[Duo's stolen the necklace he gave to Hijiri for Valentine's Day. Hopefully the musician doesn't notice that it's been replaced by a duplicate. Then again, Duo's acting suspicious, sticking close to Hijiri's side since he doesn't have the protection of the necklace and he's hiding his journal.]

(ooc: Also, Nami, is it alright to say that Duo already stole it? I know we were going to do something with that, but Duo needs it for plot. We can say he stole it in the shower while the soap and Duo's hair was distracting?)

Yeah, like the camping book. Or they have books with big pictures. Rae liked those. [Duo keeps his fingers twined with Hijiri's, but he turns to look at the books on the other side of the shelves.]

I see. [he stops and walks back a bit when one of the titles catches his eye, he pulls it out then smiles widely] Found one~

[Duo's forced to stop when Hijiri does and follows him back. He lets go of Hijiri's hand so he can use both of them and instead drapes himself over Hijiri's back, careful of the green wings.] 's it a good one?

[leans his head a bit against Duo's] Hm... [flips thru the book] Seems to cover the basics... I won't know if it's any good until I actually try the things they're teaching here... I'll take it all the same. Ah! Here's another one. [pulls out another book] Guess I've found the music section. I might take a while sorting through all these books. You don't have to stick around. This might bore you.

[Ah, he likes his rewards~]

[Duo shakes his head, his chin rubbing against Hijiri's shoulder.] Naw, you're happy and I'm here with you. I'm not bored. But I'll get outta your space if ya want. Let ya look through the books. Or I can stand here and hold the ones ya want.

It's okay. You can stay. I was just worried you might start to get restless. Well, make yourself useful then! [hands Duo a few of the books he's chosen so far]

[Duo takes the books and stacks them in his arms. Every once in a while, his eyes will move from one end of the row of books to the other. He's keeping a very casual eye out, making sure to keep Hijiri as safe as he can't without being too obvious. He tries to time it for when Hijiri's distracted with a book.] I'm with you. Said I was gunna stay with you today. That means I shouldn't be restless 'cause I'm doin' what I wanted ta do.

[Hijiri doesn't notice what Duo's doing as he's much more interesting in the books he's found] They've got books for guitars too! I think I'll try that as well.

[Duo's head comes back around to smile at Hijiri in his excitement.] You're not gunna have any time for me if you're practicin' all these~

Well, this is just something to do when you're at Azzip and I'm home by myself. Plus, I can't lag behind! Sheik plays two instruments now and Hurdy plays lots! I can't lose to them!

Well, guess that's okay then. It'll keep ya busy while I'm keepin' myself outta trouble. And I don't want my idol losin' his popularity. I might have ta get 'nother one if that happens~ Wonder if Sheik needs a devoted fan. [Duo can't help teasing even as he shifts the books in his arms. All it's just words, he wouldn't leave Hijiri for anything short of saving his life or making him happy. Still, it's fun to tease.]

[pouts a bit, but knows he's just teasing then he looks away as if he's not concerned] I get the house though.

Hey! I was there first. And you can't just have Ryuhou to yourself. I'd still wanna see 'im. [It's really hard for him to not chuckle at their teasing.)

Ah~ Ryu is part of the deal~? I didn't know that. I'm definitely getting the house then. I think Ryu would prefer rooming with me than you anyway~

Hey! [He really needs to spend time with a dictionary.] That's not fair at all. He might wanna stay with me. I'm sure I could keep 'im entertained. My devil's bein' greedy~

I'm sure he'd still prefer living with me better though~ I give him his personal space. You don't~

[Duo shifts the books he's carrying before taking a quick look around again.] Aw~ You don't think I'm fun ta live with~? Think I'm hurt~ And I give him plenty of personal space when I'm outta the house.

Of course I think you are~! Or I wouldn't have moved in in the first place. [laughs] Only when you're out of the house. Hm... I think i have enough books for now.

Well then, we'll just have ta make sure you're not too busy so I don't have to leave and then we won't have ta fight over Ryu. Then everythin' works out and I get ta keep my devil~

I guess that works. [chuckles a little] Somehow that all makes Ryu sound like our pet or something~

[Duo joins in the laughter.] He does look like a kitty.

[Duo shifts the books enough to offer his arm to Hijiri.] Ready ya go back to the house?

[takes the offered arm] Do you need help carrying the books?

But that just makes 'im more adorable and makes ya wanna pet 'im more~

Told ya I was gunna be your faithful and dedicated assistant. That means I carry them. Just don't tug on my arm.

[chuckles] It surely does~ He needs a collar~!

Mn. I won't. [and leans against Duo a bit as they make their way back]

The hard part's gunna be figurin' out how ta put one on 'em~ Think I could make a charm like yours and tell 'im it's for protection. Then I can put our initials on the back~ Then he's ours~

[Duo walks carefully so he doesn't drop Hijiri's books.]
