-She nodded. Anything to just feel like herself again. But...-

It won't be the same... they won't be here....

[Duo's going to look at her, clearly confused.] Who's not here? Should I go get someone for ya?

My "family"... Remilia., Sakuya, Koakuma, the gatekeeper girl, and even Flandre... none of them are here.

I'm sure ya miss 'em, but you can be happy their safe in your world, right? It's better than havin' them here where they can be experimented on.

I'd like to be happy with that... but I'm not. I don't think I ever will be. For decades they were all I knew. All I NEEDED to know...

I know. It doesn't really make it easier. Well, not much. I miss Quat and the rest of the guys. Miss a few girls too. But you can make some new friends here. They're not exactly family, but 's not that bad. Speakin' from experience here. Ya already have me for a friend. There's a start.

'course ya can. I'm your friend even if I do annoy the hell outta you most of the time. Now let's get ya cleaned up. Come on. [Duo's going to stand, straighten out his dress, and offer her a hand up.]

-She nodded, sniffling away a few more tears. She took the hand delicately, trying to lift herself up.-

[Duo's careful helping her up before he takes the towel from her and tries to rub some of the tears from her face. He just ends up making her face worse, but he's trying.] Come on. To the bathroom. We'll wash your face.

[He starts to lead her toward where the bathroom is.]

-She'll be more than happy to be rid of all of this make up. It felt so fake to her.-

[She might want to slap him or just get upset since he's going to get a little personal with her. She hasn't minded so far though. He'll poke around the bathroom until he comes up with some soft soap and a wet towel. He'll gently start to wipe her face.] Just close your eyes and I'll get that stuff off.

-She nods, putting a measure of faith in him. And really? For as annoying as she was, he was at least honest. She could count on him, in an odd sense.-

[And Duo would never do anything that could hurt a girl who'd just been crying. He wouldn't upset her more either. He's had some practice taking care of people here so he's pretty good and careful at washing the makeup and tears from her face. Eventually he'll pull away and go to rinse the towel out.] There. You oughtta feel at least a little better now. You can go change into somethin' else if you want to.

-She nodded, but didn't make any indication she wanted to move. She was comfortable, at least.-

[Well that's just going to make Duo worry a little so he'll be coming back and touching her shoulder. He's a touchy guy, but it's also a good way to make sure that he has her attention.] Hey, you alright? I'll carry you, but I don't want you ta hit me.

I just... don't really feel like moving at the moment.

[Duo's going to chuckle.] Well I don't think you want me ta go into your room and pick out an outfit for ya, do you?

I think I'll just stay like this... I don't feel so insecure after that...

Okay. It is a pretty dress and ya can't get mad at me for sayin' it 'cause I'm complimenting fabric and not you. [Okay, technically the dress wouldn't look nearly as good without a pretty girl wearing it, but oh well.]

Wanna go sit on the couch or somethin'? Or you just wanna hang out in the bathroom?

Could you... Could you carry me?

'course I can. [Duo's going to stop forward and scoop her off of the counter. He's obviously got practice at this and he acts like she doesn't weigh anything. He carries her out of the bathroom and down to her room.]

-She practically doesn't weigh anything. She's got odd metabolism.-

[Duo's going to set her down gently on the bed with her feet hanging off the edge.] Here, how's this? Want me ta go get your dessert? I can heat it up again.
