Alright, I need someone who knows 'bout magic and stuff. I wanna put a spell into a piece of jewelery and I don't know how. Need someone ta help me or put the spell in it. Actually, I need ta do it twice.

Apparently I need someone who's skilled with enchantments. The long-term, doesn't wear off kinda thing.

[Duo's stolen the necklace he gave to Hijiri for Valentine's Day. Hopefully the musician doesn't notice that it's been replaced by a duplicate. Then again, Duo's acting suspicious, sticking close to Hijiri's side since he doesn't have the protection of the necklace and he's hiding his journal.]

(ooc: Also, Nami, is it alright to say that Duo already stole it? I know we were going to do something with that, but Duo needs it for plot. We can say he stole it in the shower while the soap and Duo's hair was distracting?)

Damn. Well, you could practice on somethin' and then we can destroy it 'fore ya try Hijiri's necklace. Then I could give that to 'im as a present. We can do one for me afterward, when he already knows.

[He stands and picks up the discarded books before setting them in a stack on a nearby table. He picks up the other book and tucks it under his arm.] The shops should have something simple.

Alright. Let's see what we can find. If they don't have a necklace ta use, I'm sure they'll have somethin' I can melt down. [Duo turns and starts heading back out. He doesn't know shit about magic, but he can at least do the necklace part of this.]

[Sheik nods and follows him out. To the shops!]

[The trip is a fairly short one and soon Duo is digging through stuff with a practiced air. He wants to find something like Hijiri's necklace so they can be sure the metal doesn't react differently.]

[Sheik starts looking through stuff as well, though he stops every now and then to examine something he finds particularly pretty.]

[Duo pulls out pieces that have a lot of metal. It takes him a while but he eventually finds something he can melt down.] Hey, got somethin'. Just gotta free the stones and I can flatten this for ya.

[Even while he's talking, he's heating the metal enough to pry the white and black stones from it.]

[Sheik looks up from examining a nice gold necklace with a small red teardrop-shaped pendant.] That will be sufficient?

[Duo catches the stones and tosses them back into the pile.] Should. You just need a flat surface, right?

Not necessarily. [Sheik looks back to the necklace, then decides to pocket it.]

Is that all, then?

Think so. You pickin' up presents for someone? [The metal starts to pool in Duo's hand as he heats it and makes sure that the metal is pure.]

Ah, no. I simply liked the way it looked. [Sheik watches the metal melt, and wonders how that's not burning Duo's hand.]

[The joy of magic. When he's sure he's burned off anything, the metal cools a little and he starts to smooth and flatten it into a disc.] Ya did? Doesn't seem like you're kinda thing. Stands out and stuff.

I do not usually wear it, unless it can be hidden by my clothing. [He watches what Duo's doing a little longer before heading to the door.]

Then why do ya want? And where are you goin'? [Duo's hands are working and he seems a little distracted and distant as he works the metal in his hands.]

... [Not gonna admit we have a slight obsession with nice jewelery. Sheik glances back over his shoulder at Duo.] You would like this spell done as soon as possible, correct?

Yeah, but what's that got ta do with why you're takin' jewelry ya won't wear and you're walkin' away from me. [Duo kind of follows him.]

I am not walking away from you, Duo. I assumed you would follow. [He stops just outside the doorway.]

Why do you think I would not wear it?

Oh, puppy routine, got it. [Yep, Duo follows him outside like a good distracted puppy.]

Ya just said ya don't usually wear 'em

That does not mean I will not. [Sheik starts off toward where he knows is a nice quiet spot in the forest.]

Oh, just where no one can see. Got it... [following like the puppy Hijiri calls him]

[It's a short trip, as it's really not too far from the village. There's a fallen tree, and it looks like someone took the time to cut off all the branches and stack them off to the side of the small clearing. Perfect spot to be for now.]

Alright. [Duo strokes his fingers over the metal a few more times before holding the flat disk out to Sheik.] This'll work right? Or should I make it the same shape as Hijiri's necklace? Does that matter?

This should be fine. I do not think it matters. [He takes the disc and goes to sit near the log.]

Come here and sit. This may be a little while. [He flips open the book to check and make sure he's got the right idea for this before he closes his eyes and taps into the power he so rarely uses.]

[Duo settles on the long near Sheik, but not too close. He's not sure how much space his friend is going to need. At least he knows to keep his mouth shut... for now.]
